At The Norwegian Gala Awards, which was held on Saturday 27 January, we brought home four individual prizes from my last season as a trainer at Øvrevoll.
SCHAMYL was voted Champion 2YO of the Year
AMI DE VEGA was voted Champion 3YO of the Year and Horse of the Year
And finally, as a team Stall Perlen, Jan-Erik and myself was awarded Special Honours for winning five classic races together in 2023: The Norwegian Derby, Norwegian St. Leger and Swedish St. Leger with Ami De Vega, as well as The Norwegian 1000 Guineas and The Norwegian Oaks with Thunder Sea.
I was a lovely night of celebration and an emotional way to set the final period of an extended 50 year training career.
