12 new 2-year-olds in training

With the end of 2019 fast approaching, we are greatly looking forward to a new season. At sophomore level we can proudly introduce 12 new horses in training, of which all but one are currently in pre-training in Ireland and Germany.


I APPLE (SWE)

Chesnut colt by Appel Au Maitre – I Could / Johannesburg
Owner: Stall Perlen

I Apple is a half-brother to Scandinavian champion sprinter I Kirk and was bought at the Scandinavian Open Yearling Sale by Stall Perlen.

He is now in pre-training in Germany.

Bay filly by Camelot – Miss Macnamara / Dylan Thomas
Owner: Stall Perlen

This filly was bought at Goffs Orby Yearling Sale in Ireland and the second foal out of Macnamara, herself a 7-time winning half-sister to Group 3 winner Karamela and Listed winner Gemstone from the immediate family of Irish 2000 Guineas winner Bachelor Duke.

Bay filly by Camelot – Snow Gretel / Green Desert
Owner: Stall Perlen

Bought at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in Newmarket, this filly is an own sister to our very talented classic prospect Jet Action and half-sister to our previous Norwegian Criterium winner Bostar.

The dam is a Listed winning half-sister to Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes winner Snow Ridge out of Listed winner and G1 Prix Royal Oak runner-up Snow Princess.

Bay filly 2018 by Fastnet Rock – Amie Noire / Soldier Of Fortune
Owner: Stall Perlen

A Stall Perlen home bred and the first foal out of our extraordinary champion mare Amie Noire, this filly is by Coolmore’s Australian Champion sire Fastnet Rock.

Amie Noire won seven times from 22 runs, earning 2,6 million NOK in an illustrious career that brought her three Listed triumphs and a 10-length classic win in the Swedish Oaks.

Bay colt 2018 by Kingman – Kitty Love / Kitten’s Joy
Owner: Stall Perlen

This son of Juddmonte’s sensational 2000 Guineas winner Kingman was bought at Goffs Orby Yearling Sale in Ireland.

He is a 3/4 brother to a 2yo winner and out of a half-sister to Champion 3yo and older stayer in Europe, Order Of St George, as well as G3 winners Asperity and Angel Terrace, while his 3rd dam is the American champion 2yo filly and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Storm Song.

A Stall EOS home bred, this Irish born filly by National Stakes and Irish 2000 Guineas winner Power is out of our previous Norwegian champion 2yo filly Chiquette, who won the Heatherwold Cup and Norwegian Criterium in 2000.

Chiquette is a half-sister to Holy Moon, the dam of seven high-class performers including G1 winner and Arc runner-up Sea Of Class.

Owner: Stall EOS

By French Derby winner Reliable Man, this Swedish bred filly is out of the winning mare Silmaris, herself a daughter of our former champion filly and 1000 Guineas winner Simmering.

Silmaris is also a half-sister to top performers Solvana, Simano and Simian.

Grey filly 2018 by Twilight Son – Nutkin / Act One
Owner: Stall Perlen

From the 1st crop of Diamond Jubilee and Haydock Sprint Cup winner Twilight Son, this filly was already purchased as a foal at last year’s Goffs November Foal Sale in Ireland.

She is a half-sister to our previous winners Jet Pilot and Beau Nuage as well as promising 2yo Coucou Bella. Her dam, a half-sister to G2 Falmouth Stakes winner Macadamia and Scandinavian champion Pistachio, has already bred two Listed placed offspring in Billy Big and Gathering Power.

Bay colt 2018 by Holy Roman Emperor – Xstase / Trempolino
Owner: Buck Racing

By Coolmore’s G1 winner Holy Roman Emperor, this colt is a son of our multiple classic and Listed race winner Xstase and bred by his owner.

Xstase has had a great career as a broodmare in France as the dam of two millionaires already, and we’re happy to get to train one of her offspring.

Purchased at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in Newmarket and the second produce out the unraced Dubawi mare Quake, herself a half-sister to G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest winner King’s Apostle out of a daughter of European Champion 2yo filly and G1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Embassy.

A really good-looking and early born colt by Coolmore’s G1 winner Zoffany.

RAVAILLAC (SWE)

Bay colt 2018 by Soldier Hollow – Mandelblüte / Sholokhov
Owner: Mr Ascot AB

A Mr Ascot home bred Swedish colt by Germany’s multiple champion sire and G1 winner Soldier Hollow, Ravaillac is a half-brother to classic placed Candyflower and hails from a strong German bloodline.

His dam Mandelblüte is a half-sister to G1 Oaks d’Italia winner Meridiana and to German Champion 2yo filly Monami.

ZERAPHINE (GER)

Grey filly 2018 by Mastercraftsman – Zegna / Shirocco
Owner: Bo Tommy Nygård

Bought at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Zeraphine is a daughter of Coolmore’s G1 winner Mastercraftsman and a half-sister to our Norwegian Oaks winner Zahara out of another Norwegian Oaks winner, Zegna.

Zegna herself is a half-sister to Swedish Derby winner Zenato and top-stayer Zuider Zee out of an unraced half-sister to our former top filly Pretty Girl.

This is indeed a family our yard has enjoyed great success with, as it also includes Deliceuse Lady, who won the Danish Winterfavourites before eventually giving birth to G1 French Derby winner Blue Canari.
